Worshiping God and Thanking Jesus

Read the Entire Bible in 2018 (May Edition)

This month’s readings, picking up at 2 Chronicles 26, concludes the history of the Israelites with their return to and rebuilding of Jerusalem as told in Ezra and Nehemiah. Before you finish the month at Psalm 21, you’ll also have read the stories of Esther and Job.

As you read this month’s scriptures, consider how our heroes’ faith in God maintains them through the trials they’re facing: political opposition (Ezra and Nehemiah), bigotry and attempted genocide (Esther), and personal tragedy and judgmental friends (Job).

BOLO (Be on the Lookout) Verse: “I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.” Kind of reads like something from the Psalms, you think?

April’s BOLO Verse was 2 Kings 17:15. It was the writer’s blunt assessment of what led to the exile of Israel, the Northern Kingdom: Because they rejected God’s decrees and His covenant, He rejected them.

If you haven’t started the reading schedule, or if you’ve fallen off, no worries. Just pick a day and start. You’ll still benefit from these daily readings. Share any special thoughts or insights from your readings with a friend.
